Create Your Own Farm | Area + Perimeter Math Activity

What if practicing area and perimeter felt more like designing a farm than completing a math worksheet?

In Create Your Own Farm, kids become the planners! They’ll choose the features they want to include—from barns and chicken coops to vegetable gardens, ponds, and animal pens—then design their own farm on a grid.

Once their farm is complete, they’ll put their math skills to work by finding the area and perimeter of the different spaces they created and recording their calculations on their Farm Records page.

It’s the perfect way to take an abstract math skill and turn it into something kids can see, create, and actually use.
